| recap - Crabby Horse Clinic, Lazy
Bow Ranch, 07 April 2002, Sunday
The Sunday clinic was a resounding success. We all had fun, and we all learned something, and from what feedback I've gotten, everyone was exhausted, sore, or both for the next two days. Signed up a new member, and had 8 riders. Alex got the granola bar in the trail class ... hors concours?? whazzat? The benefits of designing the course .... Jumping was fun, and 4 new riders gave it a go. We whacked a soccer ball with an old broom, and decided we wanted a larger, lighter, bouncier ball, and a mallet. We'll need leg wraps if we get mallets ... The consensus was that that was essentially "cowboy polo". Tracy and new member Beth had to ride a decision overtime round in the 3 second command elimination round. The tie-breaker was the canter from a halt. We shared the day with reporter LuAnn Rod from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, and photographer Tom. Tom shot a few frames of people using the mounting block and trotting past the open rear door (and then he left, before the jumps and trail stuff). LuAnne said to look for her article in the Chronicle a week from Wednesday, which would make it the 17th, in "Lifestyles", if I'm remembering right. The Bohannan's ended the day richer by one pair of gloves, and one pair of sunglasses. We'd be willing to part with our new-found treasures if their former owners were to speak up ...
