Connie Sparks and the obstacle crew (a merry set of elves) knocked themselves out on not one, not two, but THREE separate trail course set-ups! We started out in the nice soft indoor arena, and got a lot of the bugs worked out of the nervous horses. Then a lunch break on the lawn under the big trees, and out to the outdoor arena. Everyone did well, eventually, with the exception of the Arabs and the pallet bridge. The croaking frog under the red slicker on the barrel took quite a while to cozy up to, but with perseverance, and lots of photos of ears-forward, weight-back perplexity, all made closer acquaintance. Then we tackled a babbling brook (who said Morgan's can't jump?), a triple bank from the cross-country course (uphill with a couple of big logs to get over on the way up), and a real bridge. No problem with the real bridge (the trolls must have all been napping after lunch), so all were redeemed. Have I overused the word "fantastic?" No? It was fantastic. We got close to 70 photos, thanks to one of the stable regulars, so I decided to finally put up our own local club website to display them. Anyone who would like to take over the website upgrading and maintenance duties would certainly be heard with great enthusiasm! |
